Once your suppliers are connected and sharing data, you can view their products in LinkXG. This guide covers how to find, filter, and work with supplier product data.

Accessing supplier products

From the Suppliers section

Go to Suppliers, select a connected supplier, and choose View products. You will see all products that supplier has shared with you, subject to their share policy.

From the Products section

Go to Products and select Supplier products (or use the filter to show products from suppliers rather than your own). This view aggregates products across all your connected suppliers, making it easy to search and compare.

What you can see

The data available depends on what each supplier has chosen to share through their visibility package.

Typical data at Standard visibility

CategoryFields typically included
IdentityProduct name, SKU, category, description
SpecificationsBasic technical attributes relevant to the product type
CertificationsCertification names, validity status, document access
OriginCountry or region of manufacture
CompositionMaterials and inputs (subject to upstream obfuscation)

Data that may be restricted

Suppliers may choose to limit visibility on:
  • Detailed technical specifications
  • Precise manufacturing location
  • Full bill of materials quantities
  • Upstream supplier identities
If a field is not visible, it means the supplier has not included it in their share policy for your connection. You can request expanded access if needed.

Data freshness

Each product shows when it was last updated by the supplier. Freshness indicators:
IndicatorMeaning
CurrentUpdated within the last 30 days
AgeingUpdated 30-90 days ago
StaleNot updated for more than 90 days
Stale data may still be accurate, but you should verify with the supplier if the information is critical to your decisions.

Requesting updates

If you need fresher data, you can request an update from the supplier. Go to the product and select Request update. The supplier receives a notification and can refresh the data.

Filtering and searching

With multiple suppliers sharing many products, filtering becomes essential.

Available filters

  • Supplier — Show products from specific suppliers only
  • Category — Filter by product category
  • Certification — Show only products with specific certifications
  • Origin — Filter by manufacturing country or region
  • Freshness — Show only current data, or highlight stale records
Use the search bar to find products by name, SKU, or description. Search works across all your supplier products.

Product details

Select any product to see its full details.

Information tabs

Overview — Core product information: name, SKU, category, description, and basic specifications. Specifications — Technical attributes organised by family. What you see depends on the supplier’s visibility package. Certifications — Certificates and compliance documents. You can typically download these if the supplier has enabled it. Composition — What goes into the product. This is where traceability begins. Documents — Any additional documents the supplier has attached.

Composition and inputs

The composition section shows the materials and inputs that make up the product. Each input may come from:
  • The same supplier — A product they manufacture themselves
  • An upstream supplier — A product from their own supply chain
Upstream suppliers are typically shown as obfuscated references (e.g., “Upstream Supplier U-1842”) unless the supplier has explicitly revealed their identity. Select any input to drill down further, exploring the supply chain layer by layer.

Exporting data

You can export supplier product data for use in your own systems.

Export options

Single product — Export one product’s full details as CSV or PDF. Multiple products — Select products and export as CSV for analysis or import into other tools. Supplier catalogue — Export all products from a specific supplier.

What gets exported

Exports respect the visibility rules set by your suppliers. You only export data you have permission to see. Exports include a timestamp showing when the data was extracted and which visibility package applied.

Aggregating across suppliers

LinkXG normalises product data from different suppliers into a consistent schema. This means you can:
  • Compare similar products from different suppliers
  • Build consolidated views across your supply base
  • Export aggregated data for reporting
However, suppliers may use different terminology or categorise products differently. LinkXG provides the structure, but you may still need to map supplier data to your own internal systems.

Common questions

Why can I see some fields but not others? Your supplier has configured a share policy that determines what you can see. If you need access to additional fields, contact the supplier to request expanded visibility. Why is some data showing as “Not available”? The supplier may not have that information, or they may have chosen not to share it. The field exists in the schema but has no value for your connection. Can I edit supplier product data? No. Supplier data is read-only. The supplier is the owner and source of truth. If you spot an error, contact the supplier to request a correction. How do I know if data has changed? Products show their last updated date. You can also configure notifications to alert you when suppliers update products you are interested in.
